History
The Grenada Football Association was founded in 1924 and is the body that governs all matters to do with football in Grenada. One of the Association's greatest achievements was in 1989, where Grenada played against Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean Cup Finals in Barbados and lost 2-1.
The Association now has a Secretariat with four (4) staff members:

Technical Administrator GFA also employs at least four (4) youth coaches. Affiliated to FIFA in 1978 and to CONCACAF in 1969, the Association has always taken part in the various FIFA Competitions. In 2003, GFA initiated Women Football through Competitions and now has a Development Program for Women Football.
In 2001, FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter visited Grenada. It was the first time a FIFA President visited Grenada. At that time he announced that Grenada would be a recipient of the FIFA Goal Programme by receiving financial assistance for the construction of two football pitches and dormitories to assist in the development of football in Grenada. He also took the opportunity to honor Football Greats of the past: Tyrone Harbin, Royston La Hee, Alston George and Roy Ferguson.
Currently, thirty two Clubs form the Association. Ten (10) Clubs in the Premier Division, Ten (10) in the First Division and Twelve (12) in the Second Division. In 2005, ASOMS Paradise was crowned Premier League Champions. The GFA has on register approximately 570 male players and 240 female players. |
