Queens Park Rangers earned the top spot of the First Round of matches in the DIGICEL Premier League. Their latest victory came over Dano Eagles Super Strikers on Saturday 2-1 over at Fond. In fact, Rangers had to come from behind to earn the maximum three(3) points. It will be a big boost for them going into the Second Round after a poor performance last year. The men in the red and white outfit will most likely be without their captain and star defender Anthony Modeste for most of the second half of the Season. On the other hand, Eagles have only managed one (1) win in nine matches and is deep in relegation territory. In other matches played, Carib Hurricane and D' Sports Shop Morne Jaloux played to a 2-2 draw on Sunday at the Alston George Park. Morne Jaloux led the match all the way into injury time only to concede a goal and having to settle for one (1) point. The draw has now put Hurricane in the 3rd spot and Morne Jaloux maintaining their 5th position. Well believe it or not, Hard Rock unveiled a brand of good clinical football resulting in a 4-0 trashing of Defending Champions ASOMS Paradise over at the Pearls Playing Field. The victory now places Hard Rock in the 2nd Spot, only one point away from current leaders Queens Park Rangers, while Paradise are in 4th position with a game in hand. |
