Five Stars record biggest victory so far - 20.6.06

After being edged out for a place in the 1st Division football last season, the men from the big Parish kicked off their campaign yesterday with a bang defeating Combined Northerners 8-0 at the Queens Park. Coach Roderick Griffith was quite pleased with the victory and hoped that his team will build on this performance. No team has recorded such a huge victory thus far. Carl Phillip, Manager of Combined Northerners said that he is not so overly concern with the loss, as the team is in a rebuilding process with much emphasis on developing young players.

In another match played at the Beausejour Playing Field, Sunjets too had a comfortable victory over North Stars. At the half, Sunjets were cruising 3-0, however they continued to dominate the game adding to more goals. North Stars did salvaged some pride and scored two goals just before the end of play. The final score, Sunjets 5, North Stars 2. Scoring for Sunjets were: Marvin Abraham with two goals, and Jerry Thomas, Randolph de Suze, Morris Andrew netted one goal each. Craig St. Louis and Kishon John were the goalscorers for North Stars.
