GRE Under 17
In September 2005, the Staff of the National U-17 team was given the green light by the GFA Executive Committee to prepare the team for the FIFA World Under 17 Tournament in 2007.

Under the guidance of the Coach, Carlos “Pecos” Lewis, the Staff immediately got together and started planning:

A four (4) phase programme was drawn up which included:
1. Selection
2. Physical Preparation
3. Technical and Tactical Preparation
4. Competition

The Staff began the process with a series of Parish matches against the Under 17 Team that came from Tobago in August 2004.

At the conclusion of these matches, a squad of 40 players was selected and taken into camp for physical and medical assessment, following which 30 players were kept for continuous training through to the end of phase 2 which concluded at the of February with a camp.

Presently the Team is at the Technical and Tactical stage. Training is scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and will intensify in the month of June.

The first round of the FIFA Qualifying Stage is scheduled for the middle of August 2006 in Trinidad and Tobago.
